A 31-year-old man was seriously injured after suffering burns in an accident with a blow lamp while he was working in St Paul’s Bay.

Police said that the accident happened in a property in Triq San Franġisk at around 12pm.

The man, who is from Siggiewi, was carrying out maintenance works at the time of the accident.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea is leading an inquiry while police and Occupational Health & Safety Authority investigations are ongoing.
