Some 120 animals were confiscated on Wednesday by officials from the Animal Welfare Department after they were being kept in bad conditions.

Animal Rights Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said said on a Facebook that the operation was carried out on Wednesday after a report of the animals being held in poor conditions was received.

Bugeja Said said on social media that around 120 animals, including cats, chickens, birds, gerbils, and rabbits, were confiscated.

“I am happy with this intervention and I would like to share my appreciation towards the work that Animal Welfare officials carry out, especially taking into consideration today’s weather,” the parliamentary secretary said.
