The Nationalist Party on Monday submitted its audited financial accounts for the past four years to the Electoral Commission, fulfilling a commitment made by party leader Alex Borg to mark his first 100 days in office.

The audited financial statements, covering the years 2021 to 2024, were approved by the PN's Administrative Council before being formally presented to the Commission earlier today.

The accounts were handed in at the Electoral Commission's offices in Naxxar by a delegation led by PN Secretary General Charles Bonello, accompanied by Treasurer Veronica Perici Calascione and party CEO Sabine Agius Cabourdin.

While no details from the accounts were made public at this stage, Borg addressed the matter during a press conference being held to mark his first 100 days as party leader.

Under Malta's party funding legislation, political parties are required to submit audited financial accounts to the Electoral Commission.

The Labour Party submitted its 2024 accounts last month, which showed a swing from a surplus of €400,290 in 2023 to a deficit of nearly €1.1 million by the end of 2024.

The PN last published its full financial statements in 2020, with earlier delays attributed first to staffing shortages and later to pending approval from its auditor.
