Transport Malta, together with the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, on Thursday launched a €1 million fund to assist individuals and entities who suffered damage as a result of Storm "Harry" and whose losses were not covered by an insurance policy.

The fund will support damage incurred in coastal areas and/or villages affected by flooding caused by the storm, as well as urban and residential areas that experienced damage due to fallen trees and vegetation. Eligible damage includes harm to vehicles, structural damage, damage to building façades, and other services affected by the storm.

Private individuals, companies, and voluntary organisations may apply for a one-time grant of up to €5,000 per claim.

The funds will be sourced from Transport Malta's Corporate Social Responsibility fund, which is financed through revenue collected from fines.
