On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, Archbishop Charles Scicluna led a thanksgiving Mass at the Sanctuary of St Thérèse of Lisieux in Birkirkara to mark the Day of Consecrated Life.

The celebration drew many religious men and women from various congregations who participated with lighted candles in the solemn procession as they entered the Sanctuary at the start fo the liturgy.

In his homily, Archbishop Scicluna expressed his gratitude to all members of consecrated life for their service to the local Church. and recognised the contribution of international religious serving in Malta.

Quoting St John of the Cross, whose anniversaries are being commemorated by the Teresian family, the Archbishop quoted his well-known words: "Where there is no love, put love, and you will find love."

Following the homily, the Archbishop led the assembly in the renewal of their baptismal vows, inviting all present to recommit themselves to their consecrated life.

Fr Eric Cachia SDB, President of the KSMR, presented the newly appointed IHK Council, whose members made their formal commitment and led a declaration highlighting the importance of consecrated life in the Church.

The council includes Fr Charlie Said, SDB (Director), Fr Richard Ebejer, SDB (Secretary and Treasurer), Fr Clive Camilleri, OFM, Sr Ramona Privitelli, SOC, Sr Marica Cardona, OSA, and Sr Kinda Tarabeh, RGS.

Members of different congregations led the Prayers of the Faithful and participated in the offertory procession. The celebration concluded with thanksgiving and reflection on the witness and service of consecrated persons.
