The Malta: No Music for Genocide campaign has released its promo video ahead of the national protest taking place on Saturday, 21 February, at 3pm, starting from Parliament in Valletta. The protest calls on the Maltese Government and the PBS to withdraw from the Eurovision 2026 for as long as the genocidal state of Israel is permitted to participate.

The video, directed by Maxime Durand and featuring actors Thomas Camilleri and Kaylie Magri, focuses on what organisers describe as the power of music and Malta's responsibility to "stand on the side of humanity".

Drawing on Eurovision's slogan, "United by Music", the campaign argues that unity should not extend to what it describes as "a state actively committing genocide".

The campaign accuses Israel of using Eurovision to "whitewash its crimes" and to present itself as a normal state. It claims that Spain, Ireland, Iceland, Slovenia and the Netherlands have withdrawn from participation in response to the EBU's decision.

Organisers are urging Malta to follow what they describe as a "principled stand" and withdraw from the contest. The promotional video states: "When music covers up bodies and rubble, either we become complicit, or we take a stand for what is right."

 "Our children will one day ask where we stood when the genocide in Gaza was taking place," the campaign states. "We want to be able to answer with pride that Malta stood on the right side of history."
