A man was hospitalised on Thursday morning after he jumped onto his neighbour’s roof, leading it to cave in with him.

Police said that the accident happened at around 8:30am in Sqaq San Vinċenz, Ħaż-Żabbar.

Preliminary investigations showed that the victim – a 51-year-old man – jumped onto his neighbour’s roof top when it caved in with him.

The victim was extracted from the debris and taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
