Calypso Radio 101.8 is proud to announce the successful establishment of a new national record for the largest number of flags displayed simultaneously on masts across Malta and Gozo. Following the event last Sunday, 19th April 2026, Malta Records officially verified that an impressive 964 flags were raised concurrently by households, band clubs, and schools.
"This record does not belong to Calypso Radio but to the thousands of volunteers who work tirelessly for us to enjoy our village feasts," said Gordon Pace, Station Manager, Calypso Radio 101.8. "We united to make history, and the public response was nothing short of spectacular".
Going forward, Calypso Radio 101.8 will make this an annual event to celebrate and thank the volunteers and enthusiasts who organise the traditional festas throughout Malta and Gozo.
