Thousands of Maltese and Gozitans attended this year's edition of AgriFair, which was held over three days at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta' Qali. It is one of the largest national events dedicated to the sectors of agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and animal welfare.

Over the three days, the public had the opportunity to visit a wide range of exhibitions, including local products, animals, modern machinery and innovations related to agri-food production. The strong attendance reflected growing interest in the primary sectors and appreciation for the work of Maltese farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen.

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo expressed satisfaction with the success of the fair, stating that the event remains an important platform to bring the public closer to the daily work carried out by those in the sector. He said the government will continue to invest in sectors that are crucial for food security and the country's economy.

"The strong attendance we have seen over these three days shows how much the Maltese people value local products and the work of our producers. It also confirms the need to continue strengthening these sectors through investment, innovation and sustainability," the Minister said. He thanked all workers, organisers and stakeholders involved who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this year's edition of AgriFair.

Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said said: "This year's AgriFair clearly demonstrated the passion and dedication of farmers, livestock breeders, fishermen and all those working in these important sectors. The fair is not only an event to showcase products and the work of our farmers and fishermen, but also an opportunity to further raise awareness about sectors that are essential to the country's economy and food security. I also thank all the workers whose commitment was instrumental in making this fair a success. We look forward to building on this success, while continuing to support our producers and strengthen the link between these sectors and the community."

During AgriFair, around €60,000 were raised in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund through auctions and other fundraising initiatives, demonstrating the generosity of the Maltese public towards charitable causes.

For her part, the Director for Support Services within the Ministry, Estelle Sant, said that the third edition of the Malta AgriFair was a success on all levels, expressing satisfaction with the significant work and ongoing commitment of all ministry employees, whose dedication and professionalism were essential in delivering the event successfully.

Throughout the fair, a number of educational and interactive activities, thematic discussions and exhibitions were organised, addressing topics related to innovation, animal welfare and sustainable practices. Special activities for children and families added both an educational and entertainment dimension to the event.

AgriFair 2026 once again confirmed its role as a key platform bringing together the community around the agricultural and maritime sectors, while promoting local products and Maltese excellence.
