The Archdiocese said Monday that Archbishop Charles Scicluna is to undergo a medical procedure and will need a period of rest and rehabilitation in the coming days.

Some scheduled commitments may therefore be adjusted accordingly, a statement said.

The Archbishop looks forward to resuming his pastoral ministry as soon as possible. He would appreciate the prayers and support of the Christian faithful, the statement said.

The Archdiocese requests privacy during his recovery.
