Matthew Caruana Galizia said Thursday that what happened in the jury deliberation room "is not justice but pure evil".

Writing on Facebook a day after Yorgen Fenech was acquitted on charges related to the murder of his mother Daphne Caruana Galizia, Matthew said the "verdict is obscene and the whole country is in shock. I hope the jurors emerge from their cave and realise what they have done. That they were handed the trigger phone and sent the SMS to blow up my mother all over again. Their decision flies in the face of all evidence, of all logic, of the truth. Of the accused's own admission of his guilt. And that verdict can never be accepted no matter what. What happened in that room is not justice but pure evil."
