At 1.45 yesterday afternoon, the police were informed of a traffic accident. Preliminary investigations led them to believe that the vans, a Toyota and a Kia, were being driven in opposite directions when they crashed into one another.

Shortly after the crash, both vehicles burst into flames. Members of the Civil Protection Department extinguished the fire and the two drivers and two passengers were taken to St Luke’s Hospital.

Although the driver of the Toyota van suffered serious injuries, the other three people were only slightly injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the crash.
