Suspended Sentence after man apologises to police

Guzeppi Callus, 44, threatened, assaulted and slightly injured three police officers in Birzebbuga on 23 May at about 5.30pm.

Considering the accused’s early guilty plea and his apology to the officers he attacked, presiding magistrate Saviour Demicoli gave him a suspended jail term and ordered him not to molest the three officers involved in the incident for a year.

Inspector J.J. Fenech prosecuted.
