An Egyptian man yesterday pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable in Qawra on Boxing Day, slightly injuring him after biting him.
Rabie Hussein Abd Sadek Megawer, 25, currently living in St Paul’s Bay, admitted to assaulting the policeman, to biting him and to disobeying police orders. Before magistrate Dennis Montebello, the man pleaded guilty to resisting the police. He was discharged on condition that he does not commit another crime within three years.
Police inspector Therese Sciberras prosecuted while Dr Patrick Valentino appeared for the defendant.
