A training programme on health and safety will be held at Misco’s Training Centre in Valletta later this month.
Health and Safety performance influences corporate and brand reputation. Proper health and safety practices will produce tangible results in terms of fewer accidents at work and a lower incidence of work-related illnesses. Moreover, good health and safety regimes save organisation’s money by reducing employers’ liability claims.
The Occupational Health and Safety programme will take a close look at the factors affecting health and safety issues at the place of work and will also cover Maltese and EU legislation on this important subject.
It is essential that all employees understand their responsibilities for health and safety. This programme is designed to provide basic instruction, training and information about the principles of occupational health and safety.
It also focuses on the magnitude and variety of health and safety problems and aims at providing participants with most of the basic knowledge and understanding of those actions that are required in order to eliminate or at least reduce, occupational hazards.
During this interactive programme, participants will be encouraged to discuss and share their own work life experiences.
This training programme is led by William Powney who is highly involved in Occupational Health and Safety and has made extensive research on the subject. William Powney has also assisted Misco in the compilation of their recent release of the Health and Safety Handbook 2005/2006.
This Occupational Health and Safety programme is aimed at management, members of health and safety committees, health and safety representatives, line supervisors and foremen.
This programme will be held at Misco’s Training Centre in Valletta on the 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 March between 2pm and 5pm. For more information contact M’Louise Xuereb on tel: 22 054 124, fax: 21 247 512 or e-mail: [email protected].
