Workshop On creative therapies

Malta Independent Tuesday, 2 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

A workshop on “Creative therapies with adults and adolescents”, organised by CPD (Malta), will be held on 6 and 7 May at Ir-Razzett tal-Markiz Mallia Tabone, Wied il-Ghasel Street, Mosta. The guest speaker will be Eileen Prendiville, Director of CTC (Children Therapy Centre – Training, Consultancy and Therapy for Adults, Adolescents and children), Ireland.

This training covers a range of interventions and approaches to facilitate therapy with young clients and adults for whom talking therapy is not enough. Therapy that is dependent on language as the primary tool can tend to reinforce the mind/body split that often results from unresolved issues. A creative medium can provide an alternative, and more effective, route to the healthy core of the client.

The workshop is aimed at professionals in the field of psychology, counseling, psychotherapy and related professionals. Guidance teachers and youth workers are also welcome to apply. This workshop covers 16 CPD hours.
