A man from Birkirkara was yesterday charged with arson in connection with a garage that was set ablaze on Wednesday.

Robert Hudson, 20, was accused of having set fire to a garage in Birkirkara at about 5.30pm. He was also accused of voluntarily causing Lm500 in damages to the property of others inside the garage.

The court, presided over by magistrate Abigail Lofaro, refused bail. Police inspectors Raymond Cassar and Kevin Farrugia prosecuted while Dr Toni Abela appeared for the defence.
