The Società Dante Alighieri has launched its summer 2006 study programme.
Every summer between mid July and mid September the Dante Alighieri Learning Centre offers a wide range of morning and evening courses for students and adults. Courses are also held in Gozo.
This year, summer courses will be run in conjunction with young mother language teachers specialising in the teaching of Italian as a second language (L2). They come from the Università Cattolica in Milan.
Besides the basic classes starting from Form 1 to Form 5, extremely popular during the summer period, the SDA has introduced three new programmes following a number of requests and suggestions from parents, members and adult participants. There are also beginner and advanced courses for Adults in the evenings.
Playing in Italian, is a first timer at the Dante Alighieri catering for primary schools children (ages 7 to 10). A first approach to Italian through fun games, audiovisual projections and basic conversation elements in a totally Italian environment.
Also for the first time the SDA is offering a full revision course for the Italian Matsec (A LEVEL) resits in September. An intensive course based on the programme used for our students during the winter months.
Another initiative will cater for those students who wish to refresh their Italian language competences before commencing University courses where for example the language can be useful for research purposes.
Details of the programme of studies are available on the website www.dantemalta.org and on 21238408.
