The One Metre Radio Sailing Championships 2006, held at the Valletta Waterfront, turned out to be a spectacular event, spread over two days, for both participants and spectators alike.
The races got off to a good start, benefiting from the calm weather on the days of the competition.
The regatta was run by Principal Race Officer, Peter Dimech, who was helped by International Judge Peter Valentino.
A windward-leeward course was set in the laguna and 11 skippers took part over the two days.
The championships were won by Vincent Zammit. Albert Micallef came second and Alan Desira was placed third.
The Malta Model Boat Association, organisers of the annual championships, thanked VISET plc for making the event possible.
