The renovated five-star Corinthia Lisboa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, was selected as the official accommodation partner of the Lisbon- Dakar Rally, which is the 29th edition of this Euromilhões Rally, taking place between 6 and 21 January 2007.

For the second year in a row, the competitors left Lisbon on a rallying adventure of some 8696 kilometres, over 14 stages, two of which on Portuguese soil.

The 250 motorbikes, 187 cars and 88 trucks that are taking part in this year’s event left Lisbon on the 6 January on their way to Africa. After crossing the Mediterranean Sea, the competing vehicles will head for Dakar on a route that will take them through Morocco, Mauritania, Mali and Senegal.

Located near the most important attractions of Lisbon, the Corinthia Lisboa hotel is within close distance to the historical city centre, as well as being very close to the magnificent Estoril coastline. The hotel has 518 rooms and suites and 3,000m2 allocated to state-of-the-art meeting facilities, with 17 meeting and syndicate rooms, the largest of which houses up to 750 delegates in theatre style. This makes Corinthia Lisboa the largest conference hotel in Lisbon, able to handle 1,400 delegates at any given time, supported by a 24th floor Executive Lounge affording spectacular views of Lisbon, complete with boardrooms, executive check-in and business facilities. All of the hotel’s communal areas have wireless internet access.

The Corinthia Lisboa Hotel is owned by International Hotel Investments plc (IHI), a public company based in Malta with hotel investments in Budapest, Tripoli, Lisbon, Malta, Prague and St Petersburg. The company’s hotels are operated by Corinthia Hotels International, a leading hotel operating company owned by IHI and the Wyndham Hotel Group of the US.
