MIA Appoints chief commercial officer

Malta International Airport has appointed Julian Jaeger as Chief Commercial Officer with effect from 3 January.

Mr Jaeger was born in Austria in 1971 and graduated Master of Law from the University of Vienna. He also specialised in aviation after obtaining an MBA diploma from the Danube University of Krems.

Although Mr Jaeger’s experience was in the legal field with particular emphasis on competition law, aviation law and tax consultancy, for the past three years he was Head of Business Development at Vienna International Airport.

In this capacity Mr Jaeger was responsible for market development, market analysis, market research, tariffs concessions and aviation strategy, as well as traffic forecasts, cargo development and statistics and negotiations with British and German low cost carriers.

In his new role as MIA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Jaeger will be responsible for airline marketing, the development of cargo traffic and passenger hub, the land development project, as well as the Cruise & Fly business and concessions in the retail business.
