Drago Boats was established in 1969 by its present

managing director Nikos Farazis.

With over 38 years of boat building experience, the company has produced more than 23,000 sailing boats and sport boats. In the last few years Drago has specialised in producing small pleasure boats: Caddy cabin cruisers, fishing boats and cabin cruisers, sized from 5m up to 8m, (18ft to 26½ft) split into three ranges: Sunday Fishing (Timoniers), Sorocos, Fiesta (Caddy cruisers and cruisers) although many special individual constructions have been built for customers.

Today, Drago is one of the biggest exporting boat building companies in Greece, exporting 90 per cent of its production all over Europe, with strong markets in France, UK and Moscow.

The factory is located in Koropi Athens, one of the most traditional areas of boat building in Greece and has all the departments needed for boat production, which is backed up by its distribution office in Austria.

The Drago boat factory is equipped with a machinery shop, which constructs Inox accessories for both Drago boats and for other boat building companies, individuals, hotels and so on.

Equipped with a mould department, a carpenter’s shop, and an upholstery facility, the factory has the capacity of producing over 1,200 boats a year. With the new factory nearing completion, Drago will increase its production output.

Each boat is made of high quality materials and marine resins, has a CE certificate and staff pay attention that every last detail is perfect. In September 2000, the company was audited by the international recognised body of ABS Group and was found to comply with all the certification requirements according to ISO 9001 standard.

Drago also manufactures cabin cruisers and fishers in the inboard version as well. The inboard range of boats includes the Sorocos 640, the Sorocos 760 and the Fiesta 660. All are available with Mercruiser petrol or diesel inboard Stern Drives, or Volvo diesel stern drives
