More Confusion created by the Labour Party – PN

Malta Independent Thursday, 14 February 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

After going back on its promise to shop owners and the self-employed by saying that the reduction in the power surcharge will not apply to them, the Labour Party is continuing to show that today it promises one thing and tomorrow it says another, the Nationalist Party said yesterday.

In its electoral manifesto, the MLP promised that it would set up an internal audit unit for the public sector. This already exists. It also promised that maternity leave would be paid for 14 weeks – another promise which has already been achieved. The Labour Party has been promising for many months that it would start a new loans scheme. Now in the electoral programme it has reduced the amount by e1,500, without giving any further explanation, continued the PN.

These examples show clearly the unprofessional politics proposed by the Labour Party. It continues to prove their thirst for power and their lack of substance.
