On Saturday 26 September, the Valletta Waterfront will be hosting the first day of The World’s Strongest Man, Malta 2009. The show takes place across Crucifix Hill on Quays 4 and 5.

Malta is playing host to this spectacular event, The PartyPoker.com World’s Strongest Man, watched by millions of fans from all over the world, after 10 years. The audience will witness competitors singlehandedly pull a 22-tonne truck or an even more massive 45-tonne Air Malta jet, among other challenges.

The best strongmen on the planet and the most demanding challenges like Atlas Stones, Fingal’s Fingers, Truck Pull and the Keg Toss make the World’s Strongest Man the premier event in strength athletics.

Malta’s natural beauty, history and culture will feature enormously in this event, as picturesque and colourful locations like the Valletta Waterfront have been carefully chosen to show off the island at its best. The PartyPoker.com World’s Strongest Man will be filmed in various locations around Malta, and broadcast all over the world, reaching over 85 million viewers in 70 different countries.

Thirty of the world’s strongest athletes will pit their strength in a series of 10 different events over four days (September 26-29) of qualifying, with the top 10 going on to compete in the finals of the event itself, between October 1-3. Entrance is free.
