The Maltese Embassy in Dublin is following the case of Martin – The ‘Maltese’ tramp in Dublin.

Speaking to The Malta Independent this afternoon, a Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson said: “I can confirm that the Foreign Affairs Ministry has been in contact with our Embassy in Dublin regarding the said case”. No further details were made available.

The man living as a tramp in the streets of Dublin was interviewed by Irish photographer Donal Maloney and the interview has been uploaded on Youtube. This was picked by news portals and blogs generating debate with a number of people speculating that, from his accent, the man could have lived in Sliema in the 1960s and attended St Edward’s College.
