A 34-year-old man from Luqa today pleaded not guilty to attacking police officers on August 15, 2015.
He had a family argument, a report was filed and when the police arrived on scene, a commotion broke out. He was also charged with causing slight injury to a police officer, assaulting his wife and her brother, disobeying police orders, being drunk in public and breaking the peace.
Bail was granted against a €1,000 personal guarantee. He must report to the Luqa station every Monday and obey a curfew. The prosecution did not object to bail.
Magistrate Audrey Demicoli presided and inspector Paula Ciantar prosecuted. Lawyers Alfred Abela and Mario Mifsud appeared for the accused.
