Speaker Anglu Farrugia this evening dismissed a complaint lodged by PN MP Robert Cutajar over Family Minister Michael Farrugia's lack of answers to his parliamentary questions.
Mr Cutajar said Minister Farrugia was repeatedly refusing to answer PQs, most of which were related to the interruption of HomeHelp services. The PN MP had filed a series of PQs on the subject but Dr Farrugia had always replied that the information was “still being gathered.”
In delivering his ruling, Dr Farrugia said standing orders were not clear on the matter and the Speaker cannot lay any impositions on the way ministers respond to parliamentary questions.” As such, he said, he cannot take the matter any further.
