Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure heavily condemns illegal dumping of furniture in Selmun

Thursday, 11 February 2016, 19:19 Last update: about 9 years ago

The Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure has heavily condemned the illegal dumping of broken furniture in a touristic spot in Selmun.Unfortunately, these cases happen frequently despite there being a bulky refuse removal service offered for free by Local Councils, as well as civic amenity sites, where anyone can go and discard unwanted waste.

The Cleansing Directorate offers its services for free all around Malta, night and day, to ensure that our country is kept clean, the Ministry added. However it is important that the public also do their part. The majority of reports made on the freephone number 1718 are always addressed within 24 hours, sometimes even in less than one hour.

In the last few months, a website was created to better contact the Cleansing Directorate: www.garbyandtidy.org.mt as well as a mobile phone app and a Facebook page, 'Garby and Tidy'.
