Moira Grixti, Vice-President of the Maltese Diabetes Association and Diabetes Specialist Nurse at the Diabetes Education Unit at Mater Dei Hospital, has graduated with an M.Sc in Diabetes Clinical Care and Management from Kings College London in collaboration with the Foundation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND).

The Maltese Diabetes Association marked her graduation with a reception for colleagues and close family members held at AX Palazzo Capua in Sliema.

In a message sent by Anne Marie Felton, President of FEND who could not attend the event, Ms. Felton spoke highly of Grixti's qualities: "To have achieved this award while continuing your normal professional life in the service of people with diabetes and family social life is inspiring. Undoubtedly your exemplary commitment in the specialty of diabetes care, research and education in Malta will continue."

During the reception, Chris J. Delicata, President of the Maltese Diabetes Association thanked FEND for supporting Grixti in pursuing this degree by offering a scholarship. Prising Grixti's excellent qualities as a nurse, he said, "Having known Moira for over two decades, both as a colleague at Association level and more importantly as a parent of a person living with Type 1 Diabetes, I have witnessed at first hand Moira's love, passion, dedication and unconditional support she gives to patients in her care."

The Association presented Ms Grixti with a ceramic figurine of a nurse as a memento on this occasion.

The event was fully supported by ATG Limited and attended by its Managing Director Oliver Attard and Mrs Attard.
