Early on Sunday morning, a couple of cars parked at the Gozo Channel terminal’s South Quay were dragged out to sea by strong waves that hit the area.

At around 7am, the police received reports of a Honda Fit and a Skoda Fabia that had been overtaken by bad weather and ended up in the sea. Video posted to the Raniero’s Adventures – Live Life Facebook page showed the heavily damaged vehicles on the seabed.

The clip also shows the operation to recover the two cars.

The owner of the Skoda was present when his car was fished out of the water, saying it was his duty to do so.

He went on to explain that there should be better signage since not everyone knows about the treacherous conditions in the area during stormy weather.
