The number of Maltese women in management positions remains low, with 28% of all people employed in management positions being women in the third quarter of 2020, a Eurostat statistic showed.

This is noticeably behind the EU average of 34%. The EU average share has gradually increased from just below 30% in Q2 2002.

Among EU Member States, the largest share of women in managerial positions in Q3 2020 was recorded in Latvia (45%) and Poland (44%), followed by Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovenia and Sweden (all 42%).
