63 new cases of Covid-19 found as active cases continue to plummet

63 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday as the number of active cases continued to plummet.

During the last 24 hours, a 73-year-old man passed away at Mater Dei Hospital while positive for the virus – taking the number of total deaths up to 388.

332 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has now decreased to 1,132.

2,101 swab tests were carried out on Sunday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 805,284 so far.

180,587 doses of the vaccine have been administered as of Sunday. 51,237 people have received both doses of the vaccine thus far.

Malta has had 28,938 cases of the virus so far. 27,418 of those have recovered, while 388 have died.
