Two women were arrested after they were caught with drugs ready to be trafficked, the police said in a statement.

The two women, aged 47 and 72, were arrested in Kalkara after the police found sachets containing cocaine in a residence.

More cocaine was also found hidden inside the residence.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello is leading an inquiry.
