40 new Covid-19 cases as two more people die

40 new cases of Covid-19 were registered on Wednesday, as the number of active cases continues to drop.

The healthy authorities, in their daily update, said that 101 more people have recovered from the virus.

Two more people have lost their lives while Covid-19 positive. They were an 84-year-old man and a 91-year-old woman, who both died at Mater Dei Hospital. In total, 392 people have died in the country with the virus so far.

Currently, there are 829 active cases of Covid-19 in the country.

Until now, 191,716 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines have been administered, 53,540 of which are second doses.

On Tuesday, 1,970 swab tests were carried out, taking the total number of such tests thus far up to 809,340.

The total number of Covid cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 29,033, of which 27.812 recovered.
