Three more patients have died while positive for Covid-19, health authorities said on Tuesday, while another 379 new cases of the virus have been reported.

Authorities said that three men aged 60,64, and 89 had passed away while positive for the virus – therefore taking Malta’s pandemic death toll up to 509.

704 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that Malta currently has 9,181 active cases.

107 patients – down by 17 since Monday – are currently received treatment in hospital, with nine of those – up by one since Monday – in intensive care.

1,175,136 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 310,012 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 64,315 cases of the virus so far. 54,276 of those have recovered, while 509 have died.
