NGO Repubblika has written separately to the Auditor General and the Standards Commissioner to investigate government spending on the Labour Party media.

The letters were sent following the publication of a supplement on the PL newspaper Kulhadd on 16 January.

The NGO described the spending on the supplement as the “illegitimate transfer” of public funds to the coffers of the Labour Party, given that the PL media can take such initiatives to promote government work without there being a need for payment.

The NGO asked the two entities to investigate the matter and rule whether ethics have also been breached.
