The number of Covid-19 active cases is now 800 while the number of patients in hospital has dropped to below 30, statistics issued by the health authorities show.

Ninety-eight new cases were recorded, while the number of recoveries was 78.

No new deaths were recorded, with the number of victims remaining 607.

There are 27 patients in hospital, three of whom are in intensive care.

The health authorities said 1,244,469 vaccination doses have been administered, of which 343,990 were booster jabs.

Malta has had 71,612 cases of the virus so far.  69,794 of those have recovered.
