A bus driver suffered grievous injuries in a traffic accident on Friday morning in Kirkop

Police said in a statement that they were informed of the accident in Triq l-Ewwel Titjira 1915 in Kirkop at 9:15am.

Preliminary investigations showed that there had been a crash between a Leyland DAF driven by a 32-year-old man from Zabbar and a bus being driven by a 62-year-old Macedonian who lives in St. Paul’s Bay.

The bus driver was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
