A 48-year-old worker from Għajnsielem was grievously injured after he was hit by a falling iron object.

The accident occurred in a construction site close to Triq Sant' Andrija in St Julian's at 1.15pm.

The worker was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and was certified as grievously injured.

Investigations are ongoing.
