Those arrested were taken to the police’s general headquarters in Floriana, where the process for their deportation began.

Details about the 24 such as their ages and nationalities were not provided by the police.

It’s the second such round of inspections this month after 27 people were found to be living illegally in Malta when police carried out inspections in Marsa.

The police said that they were assisted in their inspections by officials from the detention services.

Further investigations are ongoing.
