Malta celebrates Pride March after two-year absence

Sunday, 11 September 2022, 07:11 Last update: about 3 years ago

Malta celebrates Pride March in Valletta after a two-year absence because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pride Week is held for the LGBTIQ+ community to have the opportunity to unite and celebrate civil rights.

In her message for the day, parliamentary secretary Rebecca Buttigieg said that that although Malta tops the list of countries in terms of civil rights for the LGBTIQ+ community, it needs to work to maintain this status, especially considering the wave of conservative politics that has gripped the world.
