Photos published on the social media show the terrible state of the San Ġorġ Qormi Primary School, where a classroom’s wall is shown to be deteriorating.

Concerns have been brought to the PN shadow Minister for Finance Jerome Caruana Cilia by parents of students who attend the school about the terrible state the school is in.

Caruana Cilia said in a Facebook post that he has made a parliamentary question on 4 August to Education Minister Clifton Grima, to ask about the timeframes of works to be done on the school and when they will be effectively completed. The works promised on the school had not yet been started at the time.

He had asked Grima to provide an explanation as to why the works had not started yet.

Caruana Cilia said that parents have now sent him photos of the state the classrooms are in, saying that the situation is still as it was. The new scholastic year has now already started.

Caruana Cilia called for action to be taken without further delay.
