Robert Arrigo is the fifth MP to die while serving in Parliament since Independence, The Malta Independent is informed.

The other four MPs who died while still serving in Parliament are Pierre Muscat (PN, 1990), Danny Cremona (PL, 1982), Karl Chircop (PL, 2008), and Frederick Azzopardi (PN, 2020).
