The European Climate Pact in Malta organised "Together for Climate Action" on 24th April, bringing together European Climate Pact Ambassadors, Partners, and key stakeholders to raise awareness and promote collaborative action on climate-related challenges. The Pact's National Event was hosted by the Malta Intelligent Energy Management Agency (MIEMA).

The event opened with a welcome address by Claudine Camilleri, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Malta, who highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and cross-sector collaboration in addressing climate change. Diane Cassar, European Climate Pact Country Coordinator provided an overview of the European Climate Pact's role and growing community in Malta.

Two Climate Pact Community Showcase sessions formed the core of the event, offering a platform for Ambassadors and Partners to present their initiatives and share insights on a wide range of topics.

During the first session, Dr Matthew Baldacchino explored the link between climate change and global health, while Dr Waqas Latif, and Noel Formosa further addressed themes ranging the intersection of science, digitalisation, and community-led action. The first session was concluded by Fabian Borg who spoke about Climate Command and the importance of data to ensure resilience to climate event.

The second session continued with a focus on circular economy principles, sustainable practices, and environmental innovation. Dr Hans Friederich provided an update on climate-friendly travel.

Presentations by Dr Aderemi Rasaqi Baderinwa, Antonia Scicluna, and Vincent Attard highlighted practical approaches to reducing waste, promoting sustainability, and fostering environmental stewardship at both local and community levels.

A standout feature of the event was an exhibition of upcycled outfits created by students and alumni of Manzoni Fashion School, which was presented by Pact Ambassador Maria Cutajar, demonstrating how creativity and innovation can transform waste into wearable art while reinforcing the principles of sustainability.

The event concluded with an engaging discussion and Q&A session, followed by closing remarks and a networking lunch, providing attendees with the opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen partnerships.
