Five more candidates were approved by the Nationalist Party for the 30 May election, the PN said.

All of them are new candidates contesting the general election with the PN for the first time:

Joseph Aquilina on the Tenth Electoral District

David Bonello on the Tenth and Twelfth Electoral Districts

Miriana Calleja Testaferrata de Noto on the Third and Fifth Electoral Districts

Antonello Cuschieri on the First Electoral District

George Vital Zammit on the Sixth and Twelfth Electoral Districts

Joseph Aquilina is a local councillor on behalf of the Partit Nazzjonalista in Sliema and works in the business sector. He is 54 years old.

David Bonello is a 39-year-old lawyer and has been active within the Partit Nazzjonalista since his youth. Among other roles, he worked as a journalist with NET Television and also served as a PN local councillor in Naxxar.

Miriana Calleja Testaferrata de Noto is also a lawyer and is 31 years old. She was a candidate on behalf of the Partit Nazzjonalista in the European Parliament election of June 2024.

Antonello Cuschieri was a PN local councillor on the Ħamrun Local Council and is a 42-year-old lawyer.

George Vital Zammit is a 46-year-old lecturer at the University of Malta and is the author of the Partit Nazzjonalista electoral programme.

During the Executive Committee meeting, the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista, Alex Borg, thanked the candidates who are offering themselves to serve, and expressed his gratitude to all the candidates approved so far. The process of selecting and approving candidates will continue in the coming days.

The team of candidates that the PN will be presenting to the electorate in the general election to be held on Saturday, 30 May 2026, includes a mix of new faces, others who have already contested elections with the PN in the past, MPs who served in the legislature now coming to an end, women and young people, as well as a number of Gozitan candidates.
