Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg said the PN's electoral proposals are collectively offering the country vision, hope and direction as the campaign enters a crucial phase.

He was speaking during the PN's fundraising marathon, with the party raising a record sum of €1,005,624.

Borg said the party's electoral slogan reflects the "fresh breath" the Opposition wants to give to several sectors across the country. He said the PN's vision includes more opportunities for youths, increased disposable income for workers and relief for businesses burdened by bureaucracy and rising costs.

Borg announced that in the coming days the PN will unveil further proposals aimed at strengthening pensions. He said the party is also pledging what he described as unprecedented investment in healthcare to ensure peace of mind for the elderly.

The PN leader highlighted a number of measures already proposed during the campaign, including a 25% increase in stipends for all students, tax reductions for families and SMEs, and the creation of new economic niches focused on artificial intelligence, data, new space industries and the creative economy.

Borg also defended the PN's proposal to remove inheritance tax through the abolition of the causa mortis stamp duty. He accused the Labour Party of attacking the proposal without basis before later attempting to replicate it.

He said a future Nationalist government would ensure the tax is completely removed so that families dealing with the loss of a loved one would no longer face what he described as substantial succession taxes.

Turning to the controversy surrounding the proposed Mediterranean Fuel Hub, Borg accused the Labour Party of attempting to tarnish the PN unnecessarily.

He said Prime Minister Robert Abela had made a serious allegation against him by claiming the fuel hub proposal originated from a smuggler. Borg noted that the Prime Minister had not accepted his challenge to jointly report the matter to the Police Commissioner.

The PN leader insisted the Opposition remains focused on presenting solutions aimed at improving the lives of Maltese and Gozitan families while creating new economic opportunities for the future.
