Ministers Byron Camilleri and Jonathan Attard said on Tuesday that the Labour Party is the country's best option to have better justice and security.

In this news conference, Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri said that in 2025, Malta registered the lowest crime rate in its history apart from 2020, the year the Covid-19 coronavirus forced the pandemic.

He said that "Malta is the safest country in the Mediterranean now," with just 27 crimes per 1,000 people last year. The crime rate in 2005 was 46 crimes per 1,000.

Minister Camilleri listed several PL pledges, that have already been announced, to support the nation's disciplinary corps, such as improving pensions for those who serve for 25 years.

He noted that PN's pledges to support this sector are photocopied from their 2022 manifesto and fail to factor in the advancements made throughout this past legislature. Resultantly, he said that if the PN's proposals are implemented, the disciplinary corps will be worse off than they are today.

He also commended Malta's immigration system for lowering the number of irregular immigrants entering the country more than all other Mediterranean countries.

Justice Minister Jonathan Attard said that this past Labour government recorded the largest investment in human resources throughout a legislature and "unprecedented investment" in new halls for cases to be heard. He also mentioned his Ministry's "record amount" of laws and bills produced, including making cyberbullying and cyberstalking official crimes.

He said that if PL retains the people's trust, it will introduce measures to reduce court delays, have victims in magisterial inquiries receive evidence automatically (rather than by request), and be harsher against those who break laws after being released on bail.

Attard concluded that "a PL government is a guarantee for stronger justice and more consistent results" and that the PN "came out with recycled, vague proposals or with some they don't even know already exist."
