The MTA was referring to a statement by the Local Council Association in which, after condemning an attack on two wardens by a taxi driver in St Paul’s Bay, the association called on the MTA to take all the necessary steps in the circumstances.
The MTA also condemned the alleged action of the taxi driver involved, but it had no responsibility over the matter.
Yesterday, the association rectified its first statement, saying that since the driver was not a white taxi driver but a Y-plate driver, the responsibility lay on the Malta Transport Authority.
