Man Charged with attacking two wardens

John Farrugia, 33, of Zejtun, was charged with assaulting and slightly injuring local wardens Clayton Frendo and Mariella Micallef and a man named Alexander Ebejer.

He pleaded not guilty to these charges. In addition, the man was accused of breaching the peace and disobeying the wardens’ orders. He denied these charges as well.

The man allegedly attacked the wardens as they arrived on the site of a traffic accident the accused had been involved in.

He was granted bail against a Lm500 personal guarantee. Magistrate Joseph Cassar presided over the court. Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted while Dr Michael Sciriha appeared for the accused.
