Two women are among four new ambassadors that were appointed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry to serve in diplomatic missions.
Dr Vicky Ann Cremona and Dr Tanya Vella have been named as Ambassador for France and Tunisia respectively. Former Tourism Minister Michael Refalo and Dr Mario Costa were named High Commissioner for the United Kingdom and Ambassador to Russia respectively.
The appointments were made after the Maltese representatives in the four countries mentioned would be ending their term of office within the first half of the year. It has already been announced that Dr Joe Cassar, who was ambassador to Russia, has been appointed as Ambassador to Libya.
Foreign Minister Michael Frendo thanked Dr George Bonello Du Puis, Prof. Salvino Busuttil, and Ives De Barro for the service they rendered to the country as ambassadors.
